In
1997, a small multi-ethnic group of inter-denominational Christains
formed a non-profit tax-exempt organization in the Hemingway, SC area
called Caring and Sharing. Their goal was to help those less fortunate
than themselves. The first year they helped 13 families and have grown
each year. In the year 2003, Caring and Sharing helped 1,850 families.
According to Carl Harmon, State Chairman for Caring and Sharing, the
growth of the group has been phenomenal. The group now covers
about a 30-mile radius of Hemingway, SC.
Caring
and Sharing is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and all gifts to it
are tax deductable.
Harmon
is available to speak to churches and organizations about the group.
